Spring of 2012 - Day 46

April 1, 2012

It was a great morning.  We got up and read for a while, then had oatmeal for breakfast.  A great morning with my wife.

Most of our neighbors were packing it up, but by the end of the day we had more.  and a lot of kids in this crowd.  Got noisy, but by bed time everyone was quieted down.
Guess who?
I got the bikes off back of truck and rode to the beach - not on beach, but to the beach, and back, around the camping ground.  It was nice to exercise a little  It was a great time.

Then we got lunch ready for Tom and Carol.  Vonna had made the salad the night before.  I made hamburgers, Vonna got all of the other stuff ready, and we were set for company.

Tom, Carol, and boys got here about noon.  It was great to see them again.  We had a great visit.  We had a few things for Alan III that we had picked up at Pam's store.  One was the Legos that kept both of the boys busy for a while.

I BBQ'ed the hamburgers.  They turned out good if I can say so myself.  We had a great meal, and we really enjoyed the visit.

Lazy Day!
We walked down to the beach.  It was a little windy, or a lot windy I should say, and not a lot of swimmers and no surfers.  The kite surfers came out after a while, and then a truck and trailer got stuck coming onto the beach.   We must have watched him for 30 minutes or so before he got some help and another truck helped pull him out.  It was interesting all of the people with ideas and what they finally did to get out.

Stuck the rear of the trailer coming down the hill.  Hill is like concrete.
Then we stopped at the ice cream store.  This is where we got my first Old Guys t-shirts.  I bought another shirt (on sale - couldn't turn it down) and a coffee cup.  Vonna got a mood ring.  We all got ice cream, well except Tom.  He had to be different and get candy.

We stopped at the flag shop, and we had to buy the peace sign flag.  That puts two flags on our pole, but should be fine.  We walked the rest of the way home without buying anything.  I put a new American flag on the pole along with the peace flag.  Mikaylah would be really surprised at all of the peace signs around out trailer.

We made coffee, ate cookies (not yours Debbie - saving them for Easter), and visited a little more.  They left for home, Tom wanted to go down the beach before it was to late and they had a big day coming up on Monday.

I went through the mail that Tom brought us from home, and we relaxed the rest of the night.  It was a great day, nice to see Tom and family and spend some time with them.
Mikaylah's Peace Sign Flag.  She is at Peace and will enjoy Easter with out Lord.
